With BMW, lucky in more ways than one
BMW NewsJune 19, 2007
BMW owners already count themselves among the luckiest drivers on the planet, and piloting the ultimate driving machine in and of itself delivers visceral thrills beyond compare. So what more could your car deliver? How about a leg up with members of the opposite sex, for starters?
That’s one finding of the Cars & Summer Romance Survey conducted by Lifeskool TV, an On Demand television network dedicated to lifestyle pursuits. According to the 1,000 men and women surveyed about automobiles and love (or at least lust), the car most likely to lead its owner’s horse to water is a BMW, chosen by 30% of respondents; ahead of Mercedes, 24%; and well outstripping Rolls Royce, 8%, and Bentley, 7%. And MINI owners, don’t despair: The Mini Cooper was selected by 4% of respondents, making you just as likely to see some back seat action (such as it is) as owners of a Lamborghini or Ferrari.
We’re not vouching for the science behind the survey, but to be on the safe side, keep in mind these other interesting findings as you ponder your next car purchase:
66% of respondents would date someone simply because they drive a hot car. (Take-home lesson: That 335i convertible deserves a second test drive.)
35% of those surveyed said a big sticker price contributes most to a car owner’s overall attractiveness. (Lesson: That 6 Series is worth every penny.)
45% of those polled would reject the advances of another solely based on the car they drive. (Lesson: Your teenage daughter is safe in a Hyundai Sonata.)
30% of respondents felt that Hummer owners were trying to compensate for one or another shortcoming. (Lesson: Opt for an X5 instead.)
